Q? Do you stock anything other than cranes?

A: Yes, we stock and supply plenty of crane and lifting accessories, such as  beam trollies and chain blocks. Some of these accessories are necessary to be used with your crane so that it can lift; others are simply to help the process be smoother and more reliable.

Q? I need a crane that can lift a heavy load; which is the best suited?

A: It depends on the weight and where it needs to be lifted. Mobile lifting gantries can handle up to 5000kg; Jib cranes up to 3000kg and Aluminium gantries up to 2000kg. Please take a look the product page for more detailed information.

Q? I need a specific height/size. Can you help?

A: Using our state-of-the-art on-site facilities, we can manufacture our equipment to suit your exact specifications. This means that our products can come in a range of sizes and heights, as well as with different lifting capacities. Please view each product to see what the full range is.

Q? How do I know which Crane is best for my business?

Q? I need a portable crane; can you help?

A: Yes! We offer several types of portable equipment for those applications where you need to be a little more flexible. Please take a look at our mobile gantries, A frame cranes and mobile aluminium gantries.

Q? Should I choose an aluminium or steel crane?

A: Both types of metal offer their own benefits. Steel is stronger, but aluminium is lighter and also more corrosion resistant, so is better for lighter & outdoors applications.

Q? What do I do if I notice damages on my crane?

A: Please stop using it immediately! A damaged crane can provide unpredictable results. It’s important that you get in contact with us, and we can conduct next steps from there.

Q? What payment options do you have?

A: We currently accept payment by credit or debit card; bacs payments; cheque or cash.

Q? Do you offer a warranty?

A: Yes, all of our cranes and lifting equipment comes with a 12-month warranty. Please find more about our policy, as well as information in our T&C’s section.

Q? My Crane needs its annual inspection – can you help?

A: Yes, absolutely – our engineers have completed LEEA accredited inspection training, they will carry out a thorough examination and issue a report of their findings, if there are things which need addressing we can sort that out for you too. On completion you will be issued with a new safety certificate for your records.

Q? What is an end carriage?

A: End carriages are found at each end of an overhead crane’s main bridge beam, providing support and power enabling it to travel along the complete length of the structure.

Q? What does HOL mean?

A: HOL means height of lift – the maximum lifting height possible.

Q? What is MPM ?

A: MPM corresponds to meters per minute – how fast a crane can travel.

Q? Where do Cranes Direct Deliver to?

A: We can deliver our cranes and lifting equipment to the majority of the United Kingdom, either using our own transportation or other couriers.

Q? Do you offer Installation on your cranes?

A: Yes we do, we have an experienced team of fabricators and engineers to complete full installations or crane systems and lifting equipment.

Q? What Happens If My Crane Stop Working?

A: Lifting Gantry Direct offer a full breakdown service and aim to get you back up and running as fast as possible.

Q? Do your Products come with certification?

A: YES, we provide full declarations of conformity and test certificates for all our cranes and lifting equipment, we can also provide documentation on how to use your equipment safely.

Q? I have had a cheaper quote from elsewhere – can you match it?

A: More often than not we are cheaper than most others to begin with; however in the event we are not, we will do all we can to better your other quote.

Q? What is SWL ?

A: SWL means the safe working load; which is the maximum load weight a product can lift safely.

Q? What is WLL ?

A: WLL is the working load limit, the maximum possible weight  that can be lifted.

Q? What is MBL?

A: MBL is the maximum breaking load, the maximum possible weight that can be lifted. Please note you must be adhering to the SWL at all times with your lifting equipment, not the MBL.

Q? Are there lifting guidelines that I need to follow?

A: Yes, anyone operating within the lifting industry, whether it’s manufacturing equipment or using it, is bound by the rules and regulations laid out in the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).
